Robert "Bob" Lathan Drane's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Lathan Drane, 83, passed away July 10, 2021. Bob was born September 9,1937 in Houston, Texas to his beloved parents Lathan and Victoria Drane. He attended Texas A and M University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a project manager for McDermott International, traveling throughout the world. His career took him to New Orleans, Singapore, London and Indonesia. After retiring from McDermott, Bob owned two Nevada Bob’s Golf stores, one in Tyler Texas and one in Longview Texas.
His final retirement in 1997 took him to Leesburg Florida, with his wife of 63 years, Patsy. Bob was active in his community, serving on the Golf Board, playing golf frequently, line dancing, and playing on a dart league.
Bob is survived by his wife, Patsy Edgar Drane; son, Robert (Diane) Drane; daughters, Jeanette Russo and Karen (Jeff) Grimes; sister, Shirley Steck; 10 grandchildren, Heidi, Holly, Dallas, Cole, Genna, Jacob, Shannon, Christopher, Matthew and Andrew; 8 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Those who knew Bob knew him to be a gentle soul, a friend for life, and a dedicated family man. He loved to laugh and enjoyed every day. He will be missed by all.
