Richard Merle Loughman's Obituary
Richard Merle Loughman, 86 formerly of Leesburg, Florida passed away December 13, 2023 at Gulfside Healthcare at Heather Hill, New Port Richey, Florida. Richard was born on May 17, 1937 in Fairchance, Pennsylvania to his parents Merle Struss Loughman and Sara Ruth (Conn) Loughman.
He was a Plumber and had worked for Dunedin Plumbing for many years. Richard moved to Tampa, Florida 50 years ago and had resided in Leesburg, Florida for the past 12 years. He was of the Christian faith. Richard served in the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran. Richard was the former President of the West Coast Anglers Club and was the Weighmaster of the Tampa Tarpon Tournament for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Richard is survived by his two nephews, Don Lancaster and Jeff Lancaster and several loving great-nieces and great-nephews as well as a host of good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Lancaster and three brothers, Terry Loughman, Charley Loughman and Kenny Loughman.
