Richard "Dickie" Herman Hinckley Jr's Obituary
Richard H. “Dickie” Hinckley, Jr. passed away on April 21, 2015. He was born November 29, 1950 in Perrysburg, Ohio. His family moved to Florida when he was a child, and he had resided in Wildwood since the early 1960’s. A graduate of Wildwood High School, he served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps and then attended the University of Florida, where he earned a B. S. degree in Agriculture Science. He retired from FFVA Mutual Insurance Company after a career as a Risk Management Consultant.
Dickie was devoted to his family and friends, and especially enjoyed times spent with them at Weeki Wachee and in Steinhatchee. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was an avid Seminole fan. He had been married to his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Cathy Caruthers Hinckley for 42 years.
Dickie is survived by his wife Cathy, and their daughter Kimberly. He is also survived by his brother John Easton (Glenda), sister Carolyn Martin (Steve), mother-in-law and father-in-law Aubrey and Mary Caruthers, brothers- in-law Mike Caruthers (Carol), and Mark Caruthers (Lorena), nieces and nephews Glenn Miller (Nicole), Stephen Miller (Carrie), Brent Easton (Megan), Zach Martin, Cherae Link (Chuck), Fredericka Caruthers, and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Dorothy Hinckley, Sr., his sister Barbara Miller, and his nephew Garrett “Dutch” Easton.
The funeral will be held Saturday, April 25 at 2:00 PM at the Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home, 410 Webster Street, Wildwood, FL 34785. A graveside service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Glenn Miller, Stephen Miller, Brent Easton, Zach Martin, Donnie Jones, Sam Slaughter, Frank Daugherty and Pat Mahoney. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
