Reflecting on 14 Years Together
During our 14 years together, Ray and I created countless memories that filled our lives with joy. We enjoyed exploring new bike trails, whether it was a destination day trip or a spontaneous adventure with only a GPS for guidance. Each adventure brought us closer, allowing us to share laughter and discover new experiences together.
For those fortunate to know Ray well, you may have your own bike trail adventures to share and can relate to why my GPS went everywhere! (grin)
We bonded over our shared interest in Health & Wellness, particularly our love for experimenting with new healthy recipes. Ray played a significant role in shopping for the ingredients, as well as preparation and chopping, which set the stage for me to begin creating our newest dining experience. Ray’s job was done now, and it was time for him to warm up the Big Screen TV and relax with unlimited sports channels.
It’s amazing that our routine never became a chore, and how I secretly anticipated Ray’s final approval, which would ultimately be a clean plate. Our dining experience became something we looked forward to, followed by a quiet evening at home watching a movie or listening to a podcast.
It wasn’t big events that defined our time together; it was the small everyday moments, like taking a walk at midday and Ray sharing his newest audible book adventure. These were the times that played a significant role in our relationship and strengthened the bond of our friendship.
I tried to choose just one memorable event that stood out, while spending hours steaming through 14 years of digital photos, but they all blended with a smile and a tear. For those blessed to know Ray, he was a character all in himself and could make a person smile with just an expression. The photos were only a reminder of the “forever” imprint he left behind on all our hearts.
The sudden loss of my “partner & best friend” has left a profound void in my life. However, reflecting on our time together brings comfort. We were best friends and the love we shared and the memories we created will always be a part of me. “Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in my heart and the memories we created.”
You'll always be my forever "Road Warrior!"
Growing up, my little brother Raymond turned into a star athlete at Lewes High School and continued playing at Wesley & the University of Maryland football team. We always followed him in his adventures.
After marrying and having his children Tammy and Joey, they would return to Lewes to visit his parents, siblings and friends on McFee Street. He was always outgoing and inspirational. We loved you Raymond and send condolences to Lee, Tammy, Joe and immediate family and friends.
Your sister, Betty
