Ralph Oglesby's Obituary
Ralph Edgar "Eddie" Oglesby, age 77, of Oxford passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009. Mr. Oglesby was born in Hampton, Fl. After graduating from Wildwood High School he began working for the Seaboard Railroad. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War being stationed in Korea TDY with the army and was also in SAC. After his service to our country, he entered Florida State University for 2 years working for the railroad in the summers. He transferred to University of Florida and graduated with an electrical engineering degree in 1960. Ralph retired in 1985 as the Vice President of VRN International where he was responsible for all quality and reliability programs. He is a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Ralph and his wife, Margaret returned to Sumter County in 1996 from Redington Beach, FL. He attended Oxford United Methodist Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret, a daughter, Margaret "Peg" Mandemaker and a granddaughter, Karen Mandemaker both of Seminole, Fl. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Edward Lamar "Leo" Oglesby and Franklin Lamon Oglesby. A memorial service for Ralph Edgar Oglesby will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, February 7, 2009, in the Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Chapel. For those wishing, memorial contributions in Ralph's memory may be made to the charity of your choice
