Rachel Jane Henderson's Obituary
Rachel “Jane” Henderson, 95. longtime resident of Sumter County, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. She was an active member of the community serving on the Wildwood Beautification Committee, the Historical Society, and The Garden Club. In addition she was a member of the Eastern Star and served a term as Worthy Matron. She attended the Ocala Singles Club for over 20 years and ran a singles dance in Fruitland Park for several years. She raised five daughters. She held many jobs in her lifetime including managing small businesses, served as a toll collector, and farmed. Survivors include four daughters; Virginia Blakeley, Wildwood; Sarah JoAnn Sparks, DeLand; Betty Haynes (Jim), Nashville, TN; Linda (Rick) Rodrick, Fruitland Park; Sister; Clara Olsen, Jacksonville; Grandchildren: Eddie (Libby) Ferris, Oxford; Tina Ferris, Cocoa Beach; Jimmy (Missy) Tully, Palm Coast; Donald (Kathy) Tully, DeLand; Stephen (Sandra) Davies, Summerville, SC; Michael (Sherrill) Booth, DeLand; Garian (Sara) Booth, DeLand; Jason Haynes, Sarasota, Everett Rodrick, Summerfield; Wesley Blow, Jr., Belleview; Scarlet Howard, Ocala.; 15 Great grandchildren and two nieces; Nellita Merritt and Phyllis Hart. She is predeceased by one daughter; Elizabeth Penny, Grandchild: David Davies; and her parents; Sollie E. and Maggie Jane Williams. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 from 6 PM – 8 PM in the Banks/ Page Theus Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel.
