Phyllis M Lewis' Obituary
Phyllis M. Lewis, 84, Avon Park, FL went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2014 at the Oaks of Avon in Avon Park, FL. Mrs. Lewis was born on February 27, 1930 in Waukegan, Illinois to her parents Clarence B. and Ruby Phyllis Knox. She was retired from Bank of America who had served as a Bank Teller and Head Cashier. She and her husband had moved to Avon Park in 1997 from Gallatin, Tennessee. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Avon Park, Florida, where she volunteered her free time to serve her church family. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years: Eugene A. Lewis, Sr. of Avon Park, FL; three sons: Eugene A. Lewis, Jr. of Avon Park, FL, James P. Lewis (Tammi) of Sebring, FL and Michael D. Lewis (Carolina) of Lafayette, TN; a daughter: Cheryl D. Ethridge (Michael) of Lafayette, TN; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and thirty great great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church, Avon Park, FL. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donation be made to the Building fund in care of First Baptist Church of Avon Park, FL in her loving memory.
