Paul (“Paulie”) Everett Scott Obituary
Paul E. Scott, 65, of Summerfield, FL, passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospice on November 26, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Paulie will be remembered for his infectious laugh and how he truly treasured everyday moments that made life so meaningful.
Paul was born in Wilmington, DE, in 1960 to William E. and Lora M. Crowley. He was raised by his mother and adoptive father, Allen D. Scott, and was later reunited with his father and extended family for a number of years while in Florida.
He met the love of his life, Mary, at work in Newport, DE. They were married on Independence Day in 1981, and from the moment they met, they have been inseparable, undeniably devoted to each other, and happily married for 44 years.
Paul’s life was his family. His son Paul Jr., daughter-in-law Brittany, and his younger son Johnathan meant the world to him. He showed them unwavering love and support. He was also blessed with 3 grandchildren: Kylee, Bentley, and Haylie, for whom he cherished each and every day.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lora M. Scott (née Pilger); adoptive father, Allen D. Scott; biological father, William E. Crowley; and his sister, Kathleen R. Scott.
Paul is survived by his wife, Mary A. Scott (née Rishel); sons, Paul E. Scott Jr. (Brittany) and Johnathan Scott; his 3 grandchildren; stepmother, Gloria Crowley; brothers, William J. Scott, Edward C. Scott (Mary), and Allen D. Scott Jr.; sisters, Andrea Crowley Fusaro (Christopher) and Erin Crowley Scicchitano (Daryl); and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care, The Villages, FL, 32162.
