Paul Richard Bisson's Obituary
Paul Richard Bisson, 84, passed away on March 4, 2017 at Hawthorne Village Health & Rehab in Ocala, Florida.
Paul was born on September 10, 1932 in Somersworth, NH to Adolphe and Lea (Couture) Bisson. Paul grew up in Somersworth, NH.
Paul graduated from Assumption Preparatory School in Worcester, MA in 1951.
After high school he attended Assumption College in Worcester, MA where he received a BA Degree in Philosophy & Languages in 1955.
Paul also studied at St. Gerard, Belgium in 1955-1956 where he received a BA degree.
Paul served 2 years in the US Army in1956-1958 at Fort Lewis, WA as a Chaplain’s Assistant.
From 1958 – 1969, Paul taught French, Latin, Spanish, and English, at all levels and in all kinds of schools and colleges, both boarding and day schools, Paul also Coached J.V. Soccer and Freshmen Baseball’, A high lite of that period of Paul’s career was 1963-1965 when Paul taught in Beirut, Lebanon, at The American Community School.
Paul then taught French and Latin for 5 years, 1969 -1974, at Berkeley Prep School, in Tampa, FL
Breaking away from his teaching career, Paul ran a Trailer-park business in Liberty, MO. for an elderly lady friend until she passed away.
Paul returned to Tampa and to teaching at Hillsborough Community College and finally once again to Berkeley Prep until his retirement in 1995.
In 1992, Paul received The Berkeley Fanfare Journalism Award for his never-ending compassion and support for the endeavors and even personal lives of his staff and for having been the driving force behind the production of The Berkeley Fanfare, the Berkeley Prep Student Newspaper.
Paul never married. But he enjoyed Stamp and Coin collecting, and Bowling.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Adolphe and Lea Bisson, and his Brothers Joseph, Jules, Raymond, Leo, Maurice, and Adelard. Paul is survived by his brother Fr. Roger Bisson of the Missionaries of Africa of St. Petersburg, FL, his sister Helene Houde of Somersworth, NH, and his brother David (Anita) Bisson of The Villages, FL and his many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A Funeral Mass Memorial is scheduled for 11AM Saturday, March 18th at St. Vincent de Paul, 5323 E. CR 462 Wildwood, FL.

A Funeral Mass memorial service will be held 1:00PM, Saturday, June 3rd in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Somersworth, NH, .with Burial to follow at St. Martin Cemetery, in Somersworth, NH.
