Norman E. Jones' Obituary
Norman E. Jones, 85, of Weirsdale, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Born on August 12, 1940, in Moundville, Missouri, he was the son of Earl and Iva Marie (née Tyree) Jones.
On January 24, 1959, Norman married the love of his life, Janet “Susie” Jones, in Summerfield, Florida. Their enduring bond was a testament to their love and commitment.
Norman dedicated many years to Publix, where he served as a manager with distinction, retiring multiple times—most recently in May 2025. He was known for his strong work ethic and leadership.
A man of deep faith, Norman was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Summerfield. He found joy in gardening, fishing, and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet “Susie” Jones; his son, Norman Jones Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.
Norman is survived by his children: William Jones of Weirsdale, Susan (Danny) Dorman of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, and Sheryl Hare of Wildwood; grandchildren: Chad, Jeremy, Jordan, Jaren, and Kelli; 8 great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Laurie (Jerry) Parris of Ocklawaha, Florida.
Private family services will be held, and Norman will be laid to rest beside his wife, Janet, in Crum Cemetery.
