Nolie Lee Terry's Obituary
Nolie Lee Terry, 87, of Oxford, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 5, 2022.
Nolie was born September 15, 1935, to Rev. Ernest B. and Hattie Lee in Scranton, South Carolina. Nolie was the youngest of five children. Nolie was the Manager of Indian River Federal Credit Union in Vero Beach, Florida before moving to Wildwood. She was also Administrative Assistant at Oxford Baptist Church for several years and Secretary for the Minister’s Association. She retired in 2001. At her death she was a member of Oxford Assembly of God.
Nolie was married to Rev. Dr. E.L. Terry, Minister and widely known Evangelist in the United States and overseas. They married on December 25, 1951. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano and was the organist for many years at Sunset Park Church of God, enjoyed singing, and teaching the Word to ladies’ ministries and youth departments. Nolie was very proud of her family heritage coming from a pastor’s home and enjoying being a pastor’s wife herself and was very proud that her three children are all ordained ministers.
Nolie is survived by her three children, Rev. Stephen (April) Terry of Madisonville, Kentucky; Rev. Miss Miriam Terry of Oxford, Florida; and Rev. Lee (Mitzi) Terry of The Villages, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher (Claudia) Terry of Jamison, Pennsylvania; Chelsea Terry of Winter Garden, Florida; Lauren (Michael) Terry Zigler of Oxford, Florida; Stephanie Zigler of Oxford, Florida; Elijah Levi Terry of The Villages, Florida; and Ethan Luke Terry of The Villages, Florida. Rev. E.L. and Nolie Terry also adopted in ministry over a dozen young ministers who sat under their ministry for a year or two at a time and still call her “Mom”.
Preceded in death by her late husband, Rev. Dr. E.L. Terry, and siblings James Lee, Billy Lee, Betty (Lee) Goude and Violet (Lee) Jones, all of South Carolina.
A celebration of life will be held at Oxford Assembly of God, 12114 U.S. 301, Oxford, Florida on Monday , December 12, 2022. Visitation hours are from 10 am to 11 am with service starting at 11 am. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
