Nellie B. Skoloda's Obituary
Nellie Skoloda, age 100, passed away at Cypress Care Center on May 31, 2018.
Nellie was born to Monroe Jefferson and Mary Elizabeth (Gold) Holloway in Bon Air, Tennessee on July 11, 1917. Nellie married her first husband Goerge Robert Schofield in 1931 and he passed away in 1965. Nellie married her second husband Joseph Pinieski in 1951 and he passed away in 1970, then she married Paul Charles Skoloda in 1975 and he passed away in 2014.
Nellie moved from Southport, North Carolina to be here with her daughter. Nellie was of the Christian Faith and was a member of the DAR. Nellie worked during WW II in an airplane factory proudly working as a riveter serving our country. After the war, Nellie got her Cosmetology Certificate and opened her own shop being a beautician for many years.
Nellie was energetic, always willing to help others. She volunteered to do hair and nails at the local nursing home in Southport, NC. She loved to exercise and loved to help out with Operation Shoe Box.
Nellie is survived by her daughter Rita and Thomas Gourlay of The Villages, Florida, son Joseph and Linda Pinieski of Pennsylvania, four Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands, son James Monroe Schofield in 1968, one brother and 3 sisters.
