Randy, Ronnie, Deloren, Jeanie, Jerry, Jolinda and families, I am so sorry that I was not present at Aunt Nancy's home going service. I did not know that she had left for heaven. I found out by way of being online and looking at obituaries on Banks funeral home website. Please forgive me. My heartfelt and sincere prayers for peace that surpasses all understanding and strength from our Heavenly Father is with each one of you. I am sure she is rejoicing in heaven.
My sisters and I knew Nancy Jo pretty much all our lives. Louise and I grew up on Lee Street where tthe Strayhorns also lived. We spent a lot of time with Nancy Jo and Mary Lynn and the other young people on our street. Nancy cooked french fries over a fire in back of their garage for us kids as she was a little older so was allowed to do that. We played with yo you there and that is how I learned. Nancy J. gave me a small yo yo which I still remember, it was blue and red. A lot of times walking down the street when we passed the Strayhorns' house we would hear her playing the piano. One song I especially remember hearing was "Trust and Obey". I looked forward every Reunion to talking with her. It hurts to know she has passed. So sorry for your loss. Ms. Nancy was one of the sweetest women I had the pleasure of working with. She was always ready to listen, help or pray with you. She certainly has been accept by God and in heaven watching over her family.
