Miriam S. "Mink" Cochran's Obituary
Miriam S. “Mink” Cochran, 84, Ocala, Florida passed away on September 24, 2015 at her residence in Ocala, Florida under the care of family and staff of Marion County Hospice. Mrs. Cochran was born on September 9, 1931 in Wildwood, Florida to her parents Lewis Wayne Strickland and Maud (Manning) Strickland. She was a retired Clerk from the Alachua County School System. She was a lifetime resident of Wildwood and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. She loved music, dancing, going to the beach and especially being with her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughter: Blake (Norman) Bowman of Houston, TX; two brothers: Jim Strickland of Meridian, ID and Pete Strickland of Syracuse, UT; two sisters: Martha Price of Mt. Dora, FL and Audrey Ross of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren: Danielle Murphy, Michelle (Lance) Hickox, Raven (Earl) Phillips, Katie Murphy, Ty (Rachel) Bowman and Samantha (Pete) Trate; five great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Cochran and a son, Bruce Murphy. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 3:00PM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, Florida with visitation to be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00PM to 3:00PM. Following the service the burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Wildwood, FL. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to Marion County Hospice in her loving memory.
