Please except my sympathy in the loss of Mike. I first knew Mike is when we both got are cars and would cruse around downtown. When he got the442 he was fast and cool. We graduated to the drag strip and had many a good Sunday.
But what I really would like to do is to say thanks one more time. I was involved in a serious snowmobile accident and I was busted up to say the least. When Mike got there my left leg was raped around my neck, I had a crushed rib cage and internal bleeding. I was face down and was starting to suffocate. He took charge and moved my left leg, rolled me over and got me breathing. When he rolled me over there was Mike looking at me right in the eyes. He said you will be OK. After the ambulance got me to the hospital and the Doctors told my Mother it was remarkable that with injury’s I had I wasn’t even in shock. The next day when the doctors came in to see me they asked about what happened and I told them and what Mike did. They said if he would not have done what he did the outcome more than likely would have been different. I spent a month in the hospital. When I was discharged the Doctor told me the kind of work I did don’t plan on going back to work for at least year. Will I was back to work in 6 months in one of the traveling maintenance crews work in power plants. Over the next few years I made a few trips back to the hospital for more operations.
I am not sure how much Mike ever told you about this and as I remember Mike he wouldn’t talk about much what he did. But I am thankful he was there that night.
Someday I will see him again and will thank him one more time and maybe if there are cars just maybe I can win a race or two if I come up against him.
Thanks Mike
