Michael Ducanic's Obituary
Michael Ducanic, 83, of Wildwood, passed away on March 5, 2020 in Lady Lake, Florida. Michael was born on August 21, 1936 in Danbury, Connecticut to George and Suzanna (Jakob) Ducanic. Michael married Mercedes Schilf on December 23rd, 1984 and she preceded him in death in 2009.
Michael Proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 344th MP. Michael owned and operated G & M Autobody in Wildwood then he worked for Sumter County as a Solid Waste Technician until his retirement in 2006. Michael loved racing and was a member of the Southern New York Racing Association. He spent many Saturday nights racing at the Danbury Racearena.
Michael is survived by his daughters; Nicole (Jeffrey) LeFrancois of Wildwood, Cindi (Richard) Vandemark of Danbury, CT, brother; George Ducanic of Stamford, CT, sister; Mary (Vincent) Estornell of Spain, and granddaughter; Amelia with another granddaughter due to arrive in July.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mercedes, and brother John.
A graveside memorial service in Florida National Cemetery is being planned at a later date
