Joe & Janet, my prayers are with you. The first Pilot walk I did with Miss Maxine she told me that at the halfway mark to turn my socks inside out, it will give me better cushioning! She was a hoot and will be greatly missed. Maxine taught me how to "give back through volunteering." I am sure she is organizing a heavenly event!
Joe, Jim and Family,
A few months ago, North Lake Presbyterian Church was looking for members to join "Toby's Angels" which is where individual members of the church are assigned an individual in a nursing home or assisted living facility The individual from the church and the individual from the facility then meet and set up a time for visits that are convenient for the individual in the facility.
I signed up for this project and your mother was given to me as a patient enjoying visits from outside of the facility.
The last few months has been rewarding and sad in the journey home to our lord for your mom. I know that you are so very aware of what a special woman your mom was to all who had the privilege to meet her.
She often spoke of her "Kathy" especially these last few weeks as she prepared to meet with her and your dad again in the beautiful afterlife. She spoke of Jim and her pride in her oldest son and how she missed him as he was so far away. She was so overjoyed when you made the trip home a couple of weeks ago to be with her when her life was ebbing to a close.
Joe, her stories of you could fill a book by itself. Your birth 15 years after her second child and just four years before she was to lose your dad were told in great detail and with so much love and pride.
When North Lake asked me to take on this mission I thought I was providing a service but I know now that meeting your mother, for even a short time was God's blessing to me I will miss her and I will never forget her. Thank you for sharing her love and gracious nature with me.

What a sweet person that she was I always felt good when around her and that energy. Rest in peace dear lady.
Joe & Family, I'm so sorry for the loss of such an amazing woman. I respected her for caring so much for so many. Her determination was larger than life, & her involvement in the community was thrilling to witness. What a beautiful example of what a lady with class looks like. She will be missed by many. Rest in peace, my sweet friend.
Joe and family, Randy, Sharon and I are saddened by the loss of Maxine. She was always such a joy to be with. She opened her door to us as if we were family and was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed.
