Matthew "Max" King's Obituary
Matthew “Max” King, 72, of Oxford, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, Born on November 14, 1953, in Dallas Texas.
Max was preceded in death by his father, Tuly Max King and his mother, Janet Valerius King.
He is survived by his wife Sharon O King, children and stepchildren Shelly K Logan, Lea M King, Matthew M King Jr, Barry Scott Osteen Jr and Christin M Jessee and 12 grandchildren, his brother Mark A. King and sister, Holly Maula.
He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1972. Max was intelligent, hardworking, high energy and loved his family. He was curious about everything, he enjoyed figuring out how things worked and could explain it, so it was easily understood. He loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, cooking, training his Dobermans, woodworking, building and anything outdoors. Though he did not like being in crowds of people. If you asked him a technical question, he could give you detailed answers but didn’t care much for small talk. He was the smartest person I know. He worked for Fed Ex for almost 20 years and then he worked for Nash Inc. for 12 years as their safety inspector and instructor. You could count on him to do things right.
He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him and was deeply loved by family and friends. He was a person you could count on.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 29, 2025, at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church of Leesburg Oxford Campus, 8015 SE 180th St CR 102 Oxford, FL 34484.
We will have food at the barn (our home) after the service. 11945 CR 223 Oxford, FL 34484.
