Mary Oaks, 90 passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on June 11, 2015 in Sebring Fl. Born to Henry Boone and Ella Vertrees on March 6, 1925 in Livia, KY. Preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and 1 nephew in KY. Survived by a daughter, Patricia Rogers (Jimmie) of Sebring, FL, Grandchildren Lewis DeBoard (Laurie), Diana Stephens (Jamie), Angie Stephenson (Mike), all of FL., Jim Rogers, AK, Joel Rogers (Sharon), OK. Eight Great-grandchildren and one Great Great grandchild. In Owensboro, KY, she is survived by 6 nieces and 1 nephew. She led an active life, belonging to various church groups/organizations, Alanon and helping recovering Alcoholics, Red Cross Volunteer, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, Women’s Club of Sebring and Red Hat’s Club. She always had time for friends and family and will be fondly remembered to many as “Memaw”. A celebration of her life will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Sebring on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00PM. Donations can be made to The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
