Mary Lou Lema's Obituary
Mary Lou Lema, 88, of The Villages, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019. Mrs. Lema was born September 5, 1930 in LaPlata, MO to James Tye and Minta (Wilson) Collins. Up until May 7, she was enjoying an active life that included a few weekly games of golf and was quite proud of her two hole in ones. She and her late husband, Tony Lema moved to The Villages from St. Louis in 1993. She was a retired office manager there. Mary Lou was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. She was affectionately known as Nana to her grandchildren, who will forever remember games of bocce, dancing in the square, and swimming in The Villages.
Survivors include her children, Catherine (Jim) Westbury of Eureka, MO, Deborah Panice of Las Vegas, NV and James Lema of St. Louis, MO; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and a brother. She will be forever remembered by her extended family and dear friends. The Lema family will celebrate her life with a service 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 7, 2019, in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on August 16, 2019 at St. Joseph's Church in Manchester, MO at 1:00 pm.
