Marjorie Ann Bridgewater's Obituary
Marjorie A. Bridgewater 87, of The Villages, FL passed away peacefully at The University of Florida
Medical Center Hospice on Tuesday, August 14. Marjorie was born on August 16, 1930 in Oak Park,
Illinois to Robert John and Dorothea Maria Paulsen. She was a graduate of Pewaukee High School
(Wisconsin) in 1948 and a graduate of Milwaukee Bible Institute in 1951. She married Carl Wayne
Bridgewater in 1956. Marjorie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Carl Wayne, three children, Ruth
(Richard) of the Villages FL, Robert (Maria) of Enterprise, AL and James of Wyandotte, MI., Five
grandchildren, Maggie, Lisa, David, John and Jeffrey, as well as six great grandchildren. She is also
survived by a sister, Dorothy (Oliver) of Valparaiso, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert
and Dorothy Paulsen.
Marjorie devoted her life to caring for others: her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and
several aged family members. Until her death she was energetic and active. She walked daily and swam
every day. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was always concerned for the needs of
others. Throughout her life she conducted Bible study groups in her home and her many friends recall
them with appreciation. She enjoyed teaching and did it well. She was our world; a daily dose of pure
sunshine, whose legacy of kindness, generosity, and positivity will live on in all of the lives she touched.
Marjorie was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship, Inverness Florida. The family is opening the
Bridewater home to family and friends on Saturday August 18th from 11-2 for a time to celebrate the life
of Marjorie.
