Marian R Cross' Obituary
Marian Young Cross, 98, passed away on November 23, 2017 at her residence in Sebring, Florida. She was born in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan. She was married to Homer Cross in 1940 and they had two children, Karen and Larry. Homer and Marian moved to Florida in 1949, first living in the Tampa area for a year and then moving to Miami. While in Miami Marian first worked as a pre-school teacher for Biscayne Gardens Baptist Church and then went on to work in the administrative offices of Burdines where she worked for over 25 years. Following retirement, Marian and Homer found true happiness in Sebring, Florida. Marian was active in the Women’s Association of Spring Lake and was very active in Spring Lake Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and worked for the Food Pantry. She is survived by her daughter, Karen and husband Dick, granddaughters, Denise and Kay, and four great-grandchildren and many treasured friends in Spring Lake.
