Margaret "Peg" FitzGerald's Obituary
Margaret “Peg” FitzGerald, 73, of The Villages, Florida passed away on March 28, 2015 under the care of her children and the staff of Lane Purcell Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida. Peg was born on August 19, 1941 in Jersey City, New Jersey. A graduate of both St. Peter’s College (now University) and Iona College (MBA), Peg was a former Lab Supervisor and Blood Drive Coordinator with Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle, New York before moving to the Villages eight years ago. She was a parishioner and choir member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood and Saints John and Paul Catholic Church in Larchmont, New York. Her favorite pastimes included going to the movies, playing bridge and golf, and traveling the world. She is survived by her five loving children: Katie of Larchmont, NY; Philip (Alix) of New York, NY; Eileen (Carlos Ramos) of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; RoseMarie Rao (Abhi) of New York, NY; and Maura of Brooklyn, NY; a sister: Patricia Handley of Caldwell, NJ; a grandson: Hunter Ramos; a niece and nephew: Patti Cali and Joe Handley; her loving and loyal cats F. Scott and Gatsby, and many close friends and neighbors both in The Villages and New York. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:00AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, FL. A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice at 2452 CR 526 East, Sumterville, FL 33585 or to the charity of one’s choice in Peg’s loving memory.
