Margaret Jean Barnum's Obituary
Margaret Jean Barnum, 86, Leesburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2017 at Avante' of Leesburg. Mrs. Barnum was born on July 15, 1931 in Richfield, Ohio to her parents Clyde Richard Shumway and Della Cora (Rhodes) Shumway. Mrs. Barnum was a very loving Mother and Nurse working at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She then joined her husband in their family business Barnum’s Country Processing until the business was sold and they became involved in Standardbred Harness racing in Southeast Ohio. In 1998 Charles and Margaret moved to Leesburg Florida from Marietta Ohio. She was of the Baptist faith and loved to work with oil paintings and doing craft projects. She is survived by her loving children: Charles Timothy (Carol) Barnum of Marietta, OH, Gregory Allen (Debbie) Barnum of Marietta, OH, Margaret Ann “Peg” Brunner of Parkersburg, WV and Clyde F. (Renae) Barnum of Meigs, GA, In-laws Francis and Mary Barnum of Leesburg, FL; ten Grandchildren; several loving great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Charles Barnum and a daughter, Linda Darlene Gorrell. The family would like to extend a special thankyou to Avante, Nursing Home and its staff for their great and loving care of our Mother. Services to be held at a later date in Ohio.
