Lucius Wilton Nelson's Obituary
Lucious Wilton “Luke” Nelson, 73, of Wildwood passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021. Mr. Nelson was born March 26, 1948 in Moore Haven, FL to John W. and Lonell (Powell) Nelson. He grew up in this area and returned here in 2005 from Naples. Luke was a decorated Vietnam Veteran serving our country as a medic in the U.S. Army and receiving a Purple Heart for his heroism. He retired from Publix after 33 years of service. Luke was a member of the Adamsville Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the DAV and a past member of the American Legion. He was an avid Gator fan and enjoyed watching football and bowling as a pastime. Survivors include his high school sweetheart, Gloria, whom he reunited with and married 9 years ago; stepchildren, Timothy “Scott” Bronson and Sherry Register; brothers, Wesley Harrison and John Revell; sisters, Alice Langley, Jane Moore, Gay Deton and Ramona Fore; grandchildren, Austin Bronson (Torre Reed) and Faith Durham (Gage Nelson); great-grandchildren, Kaden Scott Bronson, Jade Gypsy Nelson, Aubrey Davis and Emma-Rae June Nelson. Visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 AM with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 13, 2021 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel, Wildwood.
