Lu was a dedicated, caring professional and personally a loyal and dependable friend. I truly enjoyed working with her. RIP, Lu.
Mrs. Strickland was my English and homeroom teacher in 7th grade, 1949-50. I have good memories. In later years when I would be in Wildwood, visiting family or going to the school reunion, when I would see her we would hug and she always seemed so glad to see me. She never forgot. Sorry for your leaving, Mrs. S.
Mrs. Strickland was my favorite 6 grade teacher. I was honored to know her outside of the school environment because she lived a few houses down from us. I even earned some good babysitting money watching Johnny, when he was a young lad. On of my favorite memories was our neighborhood pot luck dinners at Eo's and Uncle Jack's house. The Rawlings, Woods, Eglys, Strickland boys and of course Miss Lu, Charlie and Johnny would gather to eat and socialize at the Middletons. Years later, after Miss Lu moved away and was well up in age, she would regularly call and send nice cards to Eo. It made her day. My deepest condolences to Johnny and family. She truly was a special lady.

Mrs. Strickland was my elementary school teacher in the late '50's. She made us learn our times tables and she really wanted her pupil to do their best. She was soft spoken and everyone respected and loved her. I saw her not too many years ago in the Winn Dixie, she recognized me and my name and I told her that she was one of my favorite teachers. She was happy to see me and I her. Rest in peace my sweet and special teacher. To the family and friends of Mrs. Strickland please accept my deepest sympathy, she was a true blessing to all who had the honor of knowing her though out her life
Mrs. Strickland will always be remembered as a wonderful person and a kind and caring teacher in the elementary school here in Wildwood. To the family we extend our deepest of sympathy. She will be greatly missed.
