Louise Gossett's Obituary
Louise Marie Frantz Gossett passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 26, 2014. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Herbert Neil Gossett, and her three brothers and three sisters. She was born on June 16, 1919 on a farm near Martelle, Iowa, to Carrie Naomi Lehr and William David Frantz. She met Neil in 1937 and they married on September 9, 1938, setting up house in Anamosa, Iowa, later living in Colfax and Newton, Iowa. They relocated to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1952, and moved to Avon Park, Florida in 1977 where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Both were devoted and proud members of the First United Methodist Church of Avon Park. They made many friends wherever they lived and were both warm and loving persons. They are survived by son William Gossett and wife Linda; daughter Judith Scott and husband James; son James Gossett and wife Lynn; grandson John Gossett and wife Catherine; granddaughter Jaclyn Leland, husband Daryl and great granddaughter Addyson; grandson Russell Gossett and wife Sara; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on January 12, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church of Avon Park with a grave-side committal service following at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Services will be performed by Reverend Rick Stackhouse and Reverend Gary Pendrak. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Avon Park.
