Lavina K McCormick's Obituary
Lavina K. McCormick, 92, of Moseley, VA, went to be with the Lord, Friday, May 27, 2016. Mrs. McCormick was born March 4, 1924 in Matthews, MO to Charles O. and Edith (Allen) King. She had lived in Wildwood and Leesburg for most of her life then moved to Sylva, NC with her daughter and then to Moseley with her son. She was of the Baptist Faith and very active in her churches over the years. She also volunteered as a Pink Lady for LRMC and the First Baptist Church Christian Care Center in Leesburg. She belonged to a breakfast club in the area, the Red Hat Society and the Wildwood Women’s Club. Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Barber of Sylva, NC; sons, Joseph Michael McCormick of Sylva, NC, William F. McCormick of Moseley, VA and Daniel B. McCormick of Leesburg, FL; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Lavina was preceded in death in 1989 by her husband Frank B. McCormick. Visitation will be at the funeral home 6:00-7:00pm, Thursday, June 2, 2016 with funeral services 10:30am, Friday in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wildwood. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hopice, www.cshopice.org or the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, www.michaeljfox.org.
