L. F. "Dee" Douglass' Obituary
Lawton Frank Douglass, Jr., also known as Dee Douglass, 69, of Coleman passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 under the care of Cornerstone Hospice. Mr. Douglass lived in Central Florida for the later half of his life. He was a graduate of the Howie-In-The-Hills Academy, class of 1964. He was a retired Chief Machinist Mate in the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam and the Gulf Wars. He was a Christian, a member of the NRA and enjoyed astronomy and photography. Survivors include his daughters, Danita D. Jackson (Cody) of Eustis and Amanda L. Grover (Chris) of Leesburg; sisters, Mary Sue Douglass of Ocala and Virginia Hope Simons of Van Burn, Arkansas; grandchildren, Abigail and Ethan Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Lawton Frank Douglass, Sr., his mother, Virginia O. Reid Laswell, and his wife, Charlene Evans Douglass. Dee’s family will celebrate his life with a service at 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 31, 2015 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Private interment services will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell in the near future.
