Joyce S. Terrell-Fassbender's Obituary
Joyce S. Terrell - Fassbender, 84, of The Villages formally of Winchester New Hampshire and Southbury Connecticut passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017.
Joyce was born May 26, 1932 in Bayside, NY to Henry and Dorothy Howard Schroeder. She is survived by her loving companion of 20 years, William Fassbender, her daughter, Leigh T. Keaveney of Roseland NJ and son, Walter W. Terrell of Waterbury CT; sister, Jean Ryan of Essex CT and beloved granddaughters, Colleen and Kyra Keaveney. As well as several loving nieces’ and a nephew. She was proceeded in death by her former husband Walter F. Terrell of New Canaan CT.
Joyce moved to The Villages in 2010 and continued to summer in New Hampshire. Joyce was a retired registered nurse who attended Concordia Collegiate Institute and is an alumnus of New York Medical College, Flower and Fifth Avenue Hospitals Manhattan. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, sewing and gardening. Over the years, Joyce volunteered her time for several charities and causes. Including driving the bus for the senior citizens in Southbury, CT. She also served for several years as the president of the Women’s Club of Winchester NH. Joyce was a loving companion/wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Joyce was a caring and compassionate person and loved by all those she met. Her spirit will live in our hearts forever.
Joyce’s family and friends will celebrate her life with a visitation and prayer service starting at 12 pm, to 3 pm on Friday March 10, 2017 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel in Wildwood. Reception to follow at the Olive Garden in The Villages. In lieu of flowers or for those wishing memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box. 491265, Leesburg, FL 34749-1265. Or the Arthritis Foundation.
