Joseph Anthony Vitale's Obituary
Joseph Anthony Vitale Sr., 87, of The Villages, FL, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020.
Mr. Vitale was born March 25, 1932 in St. Louis, MO to Antonino and Augustine (Gilardi) Vitale. He was a Korean War Veteran serving our country in the U.S. Navy. Joe was the retired owner of Supreme Grinding Company in St. Louis. He moved to The Villages in August of 2016 from North Padre Island, TX. Joe was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, The Band of Brothers and the St. Louis Club in The Villages, the Knights of Columbus at St. Andrew’s Church in North Padre Island, TX and the ROMEO’s in TX. Joe enjoyed playing golf and crafting decorative birds. He had many friends in St. Louis, Texas and Florida.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Ginny (nee Mowry); children, Joe Jr., John, Tony and Gina; brother and sister-in-law, Manual and Shirley Vitale; 8 grandchildren, Paul, Clay, Tyler, Andy, Alyx, Julia, Samantha & Mackenzie, a great-grandson, Maxwell as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings, Grace Simon, Teresa Thomas, Damian Vitale, Gus Vitale, Frank Vitale and Tony Vitale.
