Rev. Joseph A. Silva's Obituary
Joseph A. Silva, 92, of Wildwood passed away Thursday, March 02, 2017. Rev. Silva was born April 16, 1924 in Fresno, CA to Antone and Mary Silva. He was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran. Joseph had worked as a guidance councilor in Columbus, OH while pasturing a church there. Over the years he pastored several churches in Ohio and Indiana as well as serving as Dean of Men and teaching at what is now Valley Forge University. Rev. Silva was a member of Grace Tabernacle (Wildwood) and enjoyed collecting anything related to eagles. Survivors include his children, Ty and his wife Cina Silva, missionaries to Taiwan, and Karen and her husband Rick Ward of Owasso, OK; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 3:00 – 5:00pm, Sunday, March 5, 2017 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Monday, March 6, 2017 in Grace Tabernacle, 7279 E County Road 468, Wildwood. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to OneHope (a Bible distribution ministry), www.onehope.net.
