Our sincere condolences to you, Lydia and family, on Joe's passing. You certainly went over and above to take care of your father. Job well done! I met Joe in Karate class about 8 years ago. I was just starting out and Joe was already a black belt. He was always friendly and giving of his time, assisting the new belts with proper techniques. I knew he was a Veteran. One day I invited him to go on an Honor Flight. He agreed, and while writing his biography for the flight I really got to know him. His experiences as a young boy during World War II, left a lasting impression on me. Also his military career as one of our unsung heroes during the Cold War left me with great respect and admiration for him. I was so honored to be his guardian on our Honor Flight, and glad to provide the opportunity to give him the recognition he deserved. He was a very special person to me and all the other Karate members who knew him. Lydia, I cannot help but think your mom said, 'Joe, it is time to get up here!"
