John "Billy" Vernon Jr's Obituary
John William “Billy” Vernon, Jr., 74, of Wildwood, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015. Billy was born July 25, 1941 in Dade City to John, Sr and Susie (Casselberry) Vernon. He has lived in Wildwood all his life, graduating from Wildwood High School with the class of 1959. Billy was an avid sportsman and was the owner of Nordic Gun and Sport Shop in Wildwood. He was a past Rotarian and the recipient of the Paul Harris Award. Survivors include his loving wife and partner of 45 years, Linda; children, Lee Vernon (Lana), Shayne Vernon, Allison Vernon and Shanda Barnes (Barney) all of Wildwood; sisters, Gloria Rankin and Jackie Vernon both of Wildwood; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Billy was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. He told others that he had no regrets, living a wonderful life just the way he wanted to. He loved his family, his business and touched the lives of many others. Billy’s family will celebrate his life 2:00 pm Friday, November 27, 2015 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with a visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 prior to the service. Interment will be private. For those wishing memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors, the Searchers Class at Wildwood United Methodist Church or the Prayer Room at First Baptist Church of Wildwood.
