John R. Sumner, 66, Lake Panasoffkee, FL passed away on July 20, 2013 in Leesburg, FL. John was born on February 25, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois to his parents Clifford and Betty Sumner. John was a Professional Truck Driver and had moved to Lake Panasoffkee from Peoria, Illinois in 1993. He was of the Christian faith and he loved to ride his Harley-Davidson and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his loving companion Nicki Johnson of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; a son: John R. Sumner, Jr. (Jacque) of Crystal River, FL; two daughters: Sandy Sumner and Monica Wright both of Peoria, IL; two brothers: Jerry Holland and Andy Holland both of Peoria, IL; two sisters: Judy Kamp of Daytona Beach, FL and Shirley Baxter of Lecanto, FL; four grandchildren: Anthony Robertson, Andrea Robertson, Tabitha Babbs and Robert Sumner. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jeniffer Sumner and a sister Deborah Smith. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 12:00pm at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, FL with Visitation to take place prior to the service on Tuesday from 10:00AM to the hour of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Leesburg, FL. The family has requested donations be made in John’s loving memory to the American Cancer Society.
