John F Newberry's Obituary
John F. Newberry, 72, of Summerfield, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Mr. Newberry was born March 15, 1942 in Trenton, NJ to the late John C. and Thelma (Rose) Newberry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Methodist faith. He retired from U.S. Steel as a Railroad Yardmaster and had worked for 8 additional years as an electrical technician with SPX Air Treatment in Ocala. He enjoyed Tae Kwon Do, woodcarving, walking on the Boulevard and friends in his community, Del Web Spruce Creek Country Club. He and his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth, moved to Florida in 2000 from Levittown, PA. He is also survived by his son, Glen Newberry of Ocala; daughter, Carolyn McCool (Michael) of Ocala and his grandchildren, James and Jeffrey. The family is planning a private service in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research.
