John W. Lankford's Obituary
John William Lankford, 63, Sebring, FL, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2015 at his residence in Sebring, Florida under the loving care of his family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice. He was born on February 22, 1952 in Danville, Virginia to his parents William Edward Lankford and Vernell (Burnette) Lankford. Mr. Lankford was a Teacher of Art Education and a Minister. Mr. Lankford had moved to Florida from Virginia and had lived and taught in Arkansas, Missouri and Florida. He loved to teach art, woodworking and was a Bi- Vocational Minister. He loved all forms of art, loved working with children, but loved serving the Lord the most. He is survived by his loving wife: Sandy Lankford of Sebring, FL; two sons: Jeremy (Tassie) Lankford and Nathan (Eva) Lankford; a daughter: Janna English; father: Bill Lankford: two brothers: Paul and Jeff Lankford, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vernell Lankford. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 3:00PM at Crossroads Community Church at 114 South Central Avenue, Avon Park, FL. In lieu flowers, Mr. Lankford had requested donations be made to his loving wife to offset her medical care expenses. On-line condolences may be shared by visiting www.bankspagetheus.com.
