John William Johnson Sr's Obituary
Pastor John William “Bill” Johnson, Sr, of Wildwood, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018. Bill Johnson was born January 5, 1941 in Webster to Hugh and Alma Lee (Murphy) Johnson. He was an U.S. Army Veteran and has lived here all his life. Bill pastored many churches in Sumter County and was the current pastor for the First Baptist Church of Center Hill. He loved singing and talking with people, some say he never met a stranger. Survivors include his children, John & Beverly Johnson and Teresa & Allen Baker; grandchildren, Bailey Baker and Taylor & Matt Rogers; great-grandchildren, Paisley, Ava, Addey Mae and Benny; companion, Dorothy. Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty. Visitation will be 7:00 – 9:00PM, Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Thursday, July 12, 2018 in the First Baptist Church of Wildwood with interment following in Oak Grove Cemetery, Wildwood.
