John L. Israel, 83, Leesburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on April 8, 2013 at his residence in Leesburg, Fl under the loving care of his Daughter and Cornerstone Hospice. Mr. Israel was born on July 8, 1929 in Cumberland, Wisconsin to his parents George and Annie Israel. He was a Banker for Citizens National Bank and Trust in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He moved to Leesburg in 2002 from Marshfield and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of the United Methodist Church of Bushnell, FL. Mr. Israel was a volunteer Chaplain for Leesburg Regional Medical Center, a member of S.C.O.R.E., a member of the Lions Club and had been involved with the City Council in Marshfield, Wisconsin. For many years he was involved with the Central Wisconsin State Fair holding various positions. He is survived by his loving daughter Tina Israel of Leesburg, FL and his loving cats. The family has requested that donations be made in his loving memory to The Cat Protection Society of Eustis, Florida. Services for Mr. Israel will be held at a later date.
