John Phillip Claybourne's Obituary
John Phillip Claybourne, 93, Wildwood, FL went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2013 at his residence in Wildwood. Mr. Claybourne was born on October 28, 1919 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to his parents Morton and Nellie Claybourne. Mr. Claybourne was a Physicist Scientist for the National Aeronautical Space Administration and was a veteran of World War II where he served in the Army Air Corps as a Fighter Interceptor Controller in the South Pacific. He moved to Wildwood 9 years ago from the Orlando area and was a member of the AFL-CIO. He enjoyed the sermons and service at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, Wildwood and had written many scientific papers and a book entitled “Myths and Misconceptions of Modern Science”. He is survived by his daughter: Mary Kay Hart of Wildwood, FL; a son: Thomas Joseph Claybourne of Orlando, FL.; a brother: William Claybourne of Denver, CO; two grandchildren: Valentine Hart-Trent (Zachary) and Russell Hart (Susan); three great-grandchildren: Mason Trent, Alexis Trent and Jennifer Bodzioney (Britt); two great great-grandchildren: Cooper and Brooke Bodzioney. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Kathryn Claybourne. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 10:00am at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Wildwood, FL. with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL with Military Honors.
