Joanne Plant's Obituary
Joanne B. Plant, 73, of The Villages went to be with her Lord, Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Mrs. Plant was born March 16, 1940 in Buffalo, NY and moved to The Villages in 2005 from Williamsville (Buffalo) NY. She was a member of both the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Wildwood as well as the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Williamsville, NY. She was a homemaker and had co-founded the Red Sox Nation in The Villages, which is now the largest Red Sox club in the world and was involved in many areas of her church including the Rockettes at the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church. Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Art; sons, Gregory of Buffalo, NY and Gary (Sharon) of Williamsville, NY; daughter, Cheryl (Adam) Frey of Williamsville, NY; sister, Linda (Rick) Stadler of Tonawanda, NY; brothers, Robert (Patty) Swanson of Wheatfield, NY and William (Peggy) Swanson of Tonawanda, NY; brother-in-law, Warren (Kathy) Plant of Ft. Myers; 2 grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew; special friends, Chris Pepper, Cyndi Wobig and Norm Cook. Visitation for Joanne will be held 4:00PM – 8:00PM, Friday, July 12, 2013 in the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church with funeral services being held 10:30AM, Saturday, July 13, 2013, in the Rock of Ages Lutheran Church, 201 Barwick, Wildwood. Interment will be in the Williamsville Cemetery, Williamsville, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Rock of Ages Lutheran Church building fund, P.O.
