James Waelti's Obituary
James Waelti, born February 5, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away November 27, 2025, in Oxford, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ethel (Greffin) and Edward Douglas Waelti.
Jim married the love of his life, Geraldine (Geri) Fitzgerald on May 10, 1975. The couple lived in several states, including Illinois, Virginia, Massachusetts, Georgia and Florida. Spending many years in finance, Jim worked for Fairfield Savings and Loan, PaineWebber and Bank South Investment Services as head of operations.
Jim had a long successful career as an actor and in later years as a director and teacher. After retiring to The Villages in 2007, Jim appeared in over 100 local productions and was a founding member of The Villages Drama Company.
Jim leaves behind two daughters, Marrette (Jeff) Winters and Joy (Jason) Adams. His beloved grandchildren, William, Catherine (Dustin), Siena, Megan, Lauren and Thomas and great granddaughter Evelyn Grace, “Evie G.” A sister, Annette Schwieger, and many nephews and nieces.
Jim requests no charity donations be made in his memory. He would prefer a gift of your time to visit or bring flowers or fruit to an assisted living facility of your choice and spend time with a resident who has little or no family.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 pm Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Banks/Page-Theus Chapel 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785.
