James Levi Van Nice's Obituary
James Levy Van Nice, 90, of Oxford, Florida passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017 at his home at Mission Oaks Senior Living. He was born on October 26, 1926 to the late Harris and Pearl Van Nice of Benton Co., Iowa. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice C. Fischels, and his two sisters, Mary and Barb. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a tool and die maker in Waterloo, Iowa prior to retiring to Monticello, KY where he worked part time at Walmart. He did volunteer work for Hospice and St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Monticello. He is survived by his 11 children; sons, Dave (Carol) Van Nice, Tom (Sandy) Van Nice, Bob (Cindy) Van Nice, Jim (Kaye) Van Nice, Dan (Alma) Van Nice, Mike (Rozanne) Van Nice, Patrick (Judy) Van Nice, John (Sherry) Van Nice, daughters, Mary Jo (Ray) Ruiz, Sue (John) Belt, Theresa (Don) Knott, 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, Florida on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 2:00PM till 4:00PM with a prayer service to be held at 4:00PM at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, Florida on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 12:00PM (Noon). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages, Florida. On-line condolences may be shared by visiting www.bankspagetheus.com.
