James Harrison Tyler's Obituary
James H. Tyler “JAS”, 69 of Leesburg and formerly of Wildwood went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 8, 2011. He was born on April 5, 1942 in Hot Springs, AK to the late Nathaniel and Elizabeth Tyler. Jas graduated from Rutland High School in Vermont in 1960. He attended College of the Ozarks where he graduated with a B.S. and Administration in 1966. He moved to Wildwood from N.Y. in 1969. He was a math teacher at Wildwood High School for 30 years where he received teacher of the year 3 consecutive years. He coached golf and loved all kinds of sports. He retired in 1999. Jas leaved behind to cherish his memories his wife Sherry of 37 years, 2 daughters: Joy (Ben) Bridges and Janey (Josh) Powell both of Wildwood, 3 granddaughters: Camryn Singleton, Addyson Powell and Brittany Bridges; mother-in-law, Joyce Johnson, twin brother, John (Patsy) Tyler of Fruitland Park; nephew, Michael (Amy) Tyler; and sister, Caroline (Don) Norquist of S.C. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice 2445 Lane Park Road Tavares, FL 32778. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 12th at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Fruitland Park. On line condolences may be left by visiting www.bankspagetheus.com.
