James Lawton Gay's Obituary
James Lawton Gay (Jimmy) 62, of Oxford, FL passed away after suffering a short illness due to complications of Diabetes and Cancer on July 18, 2021. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Lawton (JoAnne) Gay; his mother, Margery and brother, Lawton Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; his sons, Lawton, Haden, Marshal; and two granddaughters Cecelia and Hazel. Additionally, he is also survived by his siblings: Debbie, Robin, Sharon, Richard, Rusty, Lori, Rhonda, Kandi, Kim and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was an avid animal lover who loved the ocean, fishing and was a collector of any old artifacts. He was known for his quick wit, his ingenuity and intelligence. He had a wealth of knowledge, an infectious smile and a compassionate heart of gold and was loved by many.
His life wasn’t without challenges, but while the sea of life can sometimes be rough, in the end, we all hope to find smooth waters. A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date.
