James W. Buettner's Obituary
James W. Buettner, 75, of Lake Placid passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018. Mr. Buettner was born April 7, 1943 in Louisville, KY to Henry and Margaret (Cooper) Buettner. He served in the U.S. National Guard being called to duty during the Detroit Riots. Jim was retired from sales with Truly Nolan Pest Control. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus in St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Naples where he had lived for over 20 years prior to moving to Lake Placid in 2015. He also spent many hours volunteering for St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church. Jim is now a parishioner of St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Mary; children, Jimmy & Melissa Buettner, Julia & John Edwards, Jeff & Wendy Buettner and Casey & Kaitlyn Buettner; first wife, Suzanne Buettner; siblings, Richard Buettner, Tom Buettner and Tina Murray; 12 grandchildren. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00am, Monday, January 21, 2019, in St. James Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
