Jack Holt McDonald's Obituary
Jack Holt McDonald, 88, of Mt. Dora passed away Monday, April 23, 2012. Mr. McDonald was born September 28, 1923 in Valdosta, Ga. and had lived most of his life in Wildwood moving to Mt. Dora in 2010. He was a switchman for CSX railroad, retiring after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Wildwood United Methodist Church where he produced the stain glass for the windows and was instrumental in moving and renovating the stained glass from the old church to the present church which is now displayed in the church. He also belonged to the Wildwood Masonic Lodge #92, F&AM, the Scottish rite, Shrine, American Legion Post 18 and NARVE. He loved golfing and enjoyed fishing. He was part of the group of men who founded and developed Rolling Hills Country Club in Wildwood (now known as Miona Lakes). Jack also was a Boy Scout Leader in Wildwood for many years. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Francine; 3 sons, Randy (Diana) of Oxford, Jack, Jr. (Gina) of Wildwood, Jim (Lisa) of Wahoo; 3 stepdaughters, Cindy (Jerry) Huber of Oak Park, Il. Gene Hess of Baldwin Park and Joan (Robert) Wolfe of Lake Mary; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, April 28, 2012 with the visitation one hour prior to the service in the Wildwood United Methodist Church.
