Jack Dominick Cattedra's Obituary
Jack Dominick Cattedra, 84, Wildwood, Florida passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on November 5, 2015. Mr. Cattedra was born October 10, 1931 in Bari, Italy to his parents Joseph and Vincenza Cattedra. He moved to Wildwood in 2001 coming from Ruidoso, New Mexico. Mr. Cattedra was a Master Chef in the Restaurant Industry and had been involved with the Hilton Chain opening the San Francisco Airport Hilton and the Dallas Airport Hilton. He had cooked for three presidents and several movie stars and other actors and actresses as well as the original Col. Sanders and the original “Tarzan and Jane” Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O’Sullivan. He was known in Chicago as the Sandwich King and had invented the “Pinwheel Sandwich” which was originally called “The Banana Ham Nutwhich”. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, FL. He is survived by three sons: Joseph Lee Cattedra (Teresa) of Riverbank, CA, Jack Dominick Cattedra, Jr. (Michelle) of Leesburg, FL and John Paul Cattedra of Wildwood, FL; two daughter: Jackie Richardson (Roland) of The Villages, FL and JoAnn Cattedra of Davenport, FL; sister: Mary Anderson (Frank) of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren: Joel Richardson, Rolene Richardson, Corey Jo Cattedra, Jack Cattedra, III, Brougane Cattedra, Rhapsody Cattedra and Joey Noel Cattedra; three great-grandchildren: Meadow Jackson, Karis Thomas and Gavin Dominick Cattedra; two nephews Stephen and Michael and his loving dog Domino. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy C. Cattedra. A Visitation will be on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, Florida. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, FL at 11:00AM.
