Irene Bernice Parenteau's Obituary
Irene Bernice Parenteau, 96, Wildwood, Florida passed away on January 30, 2016 in Ocala, Florida under the loving care of her family and staff of Hospice of Marion County. Mrs. Parenteau was born on September 21, 1919 in West Warwick, Rhode Island to her parents Francis Whitfield Dyer and Marie Rose (Fortin) Dyer. She was a homemaker and loved spending time taking care of her family. She and her late husband Norman moved to Wildwood in 1983. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Wildwood. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, traveling and was an avid reader as well as taking time out to enjoy ice cream which by the way, she claimed as her secret to longevity. She is survived by her loving children: Craig (Sandra) Parenteau of Gainesville, FL, Wayne Parenteau of Burlington, VT, Steven Parenteau of San Francisco, Nancy Parenteau and her husband Thomas Callan of Pacifica, CA, Henry (Ingrid) Parenteau of Miami, FL and Brian Parenteau of Key West, FL; brother: Charles Dyer of Coventry, RI; grandchildren: Sean, Allison, Laura, Meredith and Riley; three great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Norman Parenteau in 2007. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 1:00PM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, Florida with a gathering at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00PM (Noon) till the hour of service.
