The first time I met Scott, Henry's grandson, he made me feel like he had adopted me too..hugs and kisses and fond pride; sometimes he and grandma would include me in the grandchild count, not caring I had arrived late to the family! For that love and unconditional acceptance I am very grateful. Grandpa Nesz epitomized love of country, love of family, love of God and love of others. His generation went thru hardship and sacrifice, both in the Depression, and World War II. I choose not to worry that future generations will never be this strong, but that grandpa will serve as a loving reminder of what is important to those children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that follow. In later years, Scott and I had the pleasure of watching him and grandma interact with their great-grandchildren, Sara and Ryan. We are continually thankful the kids could know them as well as they did. I remember grandpa blowing bubbles at one of Sara's birthdays, and he commented that it had been 50 years since he had done that…. I was not sure who had more fun, Sara catching bubbles in the air or grandpa! His pure pleasure in the joy of family made spending time with him enjoyable and fun. Grandpa will be missed daily, and thought of often. I am personally thankful I had the pleasure of sharing visits with grandpa, being able to enjoy his family with him, and be a part of his life. He is missed, but knowing he has no more pain, confusion, or worries and is in heaven is very comforting. God Bless you Grandpa!
